Founded by Les Salisbury in 1984, Furness Fish & Game were originally famous for supplying the Royal family with Morecambe Bay Potted Shrimps.
Furness Fish & Game remained a family run business when Les retired in 2010. Proud to continue her uncle’s legacy to bring you the finest, traditionally prepared potted shrimps, Clare Worrall now runs the business.
Clare has steadily grown the business expanding their product range to sell all types of high quality fish and wild game.
World-Famous Potted Shrimps
Much loved for their distinct and delicious flavour, Clare says that the secret to this Cumbrian delicacy is the tried and trusted family recipe which dates back hundreds of years. Local brown shrimps are hand-peeled, gently boiled in butter infused with a bespoke blend of spices, and sealed in pots. From their EC-approved processing factory in Flookburgh, Cumbria, they produce over 2,000 pots every day to meet nationwide demand. Originally harvested by Les using horses and carts, the company now uses tractors to safely navigate the treacherous Morecambe Bay tidal sands.
