Originating in Tipperary, Ireland in 1750, Mr Dexter developed the breed by selecting the best of the hardy mountain cattle of the area, descended from the ancient black cattle of the early Celts.

This smallest British breed of cattle became endangered in the post war move to intensive agriculture. However, we now have an excellent range of this Dexter beef for sale including roasting joints, meat boxes, steaks, burgers and sausages, all at sensible prices.
