The Lake District Lobster & Seafood Co. was established in 2015 when owner Chris Saunders made his passion for fishing into a business. Now nearly 7 years on, he has a thriving shop in the market town of Ulverston, Cumbria which stocks the freshest cuts of prime fish and seafood caught by their own staff members sourced from sustainable local fishing boats.
From Chris’s Cumbrian shop he supplies top quality hotels and restaurants as well as his local community and now a busy online shop too. Chris and his friendly staff still get out and catch themselves, and have even got a bigger boat recently due to a surge in demand.
A great supporter of his local community, Chris’s future plans include opening a restaurant which focuses on the Cumbrian Coastline and the amazingly fresh and varied fish and seafood caught locally. Catching much of their stock themselves, Chris and his staff also select fish sourced as locally as possible to deliver fresh produce for customers.
Chris’s speciality is Lobster, Dressed Crab, Oysters and of course Morecombe Bay Potted Shrimps. His Seafood Platters are some of the freshest and best value we have found. He also makes up fantastic kebabs and Fish Boxes which are perfect for the BBQ or a quick midweek meal under the grill.
