This cheese and wine hamper includes:
Killeen Goat Gouda. Pasteurised goats; milk. 250g.
Leaving Holland in search of the Irish ‘good-life’, Marion Roeleveld developed Killeen – a goats’ milk Gouda with milk given by her own goats.
Finn. Unpasteurised cows’ milk, vegetarian. 200g.
A triple-cream cheese, a classic of the French Parisian style. Extra cream is added to the milk before making the Finn cheese, ensuring it has a rich, delectable flavour and smooth texture.
Hafod Cheddar. Unpasteurised cows’ milk, organic. 250g.
With only 65 Ayrshire cows, this clothbound Cheddar is made to a very traditional recipe, producing a cheese that is buttery and smooth, with that special Cheddar tang. At The Courtyard Dairy the best Hafod truckles are selected and further aged to 14-months. At 14-months old the cheese retains its buttery flavours and develops that special tang.
Winslade. Pasteurised cows’ milk, vegetarian. 230g.
A recent creation – a cross between Vacherin and Camembert, encircled by a spruce strip. Winslade is matured and sold by The Courtyard Dairy when it is fully ripe, rich, soft and gooey.
Cote Hill Blue. Unpasteurised cows’ milk, vegetarian. 290g.
With the price of wholesale milk falling, the Davenports took a short course in cheese making and invented Britain’s first unpasteurised soft blue: Cote Hill Blue.
Yorkshire Chorizo. Approx. 100g.
Chris Wildman’s family have been butchers since the 1800s. Taking the business in a new direction, Chris farms high up in the Yorkshire Dales at Kirkby-Malham, whilst also producing this spicy chorizo using his own (and local Yorkshire) pork.
Fig Chutney. 198g.
An intensely thick, fig chutney that is sweet and rich.
English Pickled Onions. 454g.
English Onions pickled in a warmly-spiced, sweet, malt vinegar, with a crunchy bite. Perfect for Ploughman’s lunch and traditional British cheeses.
Isle of Arran Oatcakes. 180g.
Isle of Arran Oaties are the perfect oatcakes to go with cheese, with a crisp crunch and rich, nutty, caramelised flavour. Still made in the traditional way and baked by hand in Scotland.
Water Crackers. 100g.
A neutral water cracker that is deliciously crisp and toasty. A perfect accompaniment to any cheese.
Ciello Rosso – Nero d’ Avola– red wine (75cl, 13.5% abv).
Made by one of Italy’s foremost biodynamic winemakers.
This classic Italian red is a medium bodied red-wine, with spicy and fruity red aromas.
Ciello Bianco – Catarratto – white wine (75cl, 10.5% abv).
Growing the classic Sicilian white grape, Catarratto, the Vesco family make a natural white wine that is refreshing, aromatic, fruity, and very easy to drink. this easy-drinking white wine is refreshing, crisp and citrusy. This wine is biodynamic and completely unfiltered (most wine is filtered through isinglass to remove any cloudiness but some people believe it removes character to do that), so it can be a touch cloudy but it should settle out to the bottom of the bottle/glass after a while.
