This popular tomato & lentil based curry kit is bursting with flavour. The turmeric, cloves and coriander really shine through. Add a light meat, fish or vegetables for a fantastic, yet healthy meal. Most Dhansak's on a takeaway menu will be hotter than ours, but you can always add fresh chilli at home to spice things up a bit.
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan over a low heat. Add the ground and whole spices to the oil and stir until fragrant. Add approx. 800g of chopped meat or vegetables to the pan and coat in the spices (if using fish, add at the end of cooking and poach in the liquid for a few minutes until cooked). Add a 400g tin of tomatoes along with 85g of split red lentils and 400ml water. Add the dehydrated onions and garlic to the pan and stir. Simmer until your meat/veg/fish is cooked through, then serve with a squeeze of lime.
