Ferry Ales Brewery is an award-winning family run brewery based just outside the historic city of Lincoln that produces a wide range of beers from a true Pilsner style Lager to an Imperial Stout. Following a business career in London, John decided it was time to be brave and follow his passion for beer and brewing.
The brewery has built a strong following in their local area supplying pubs, hotels, restaurants and farm shops and have won both regional and national awards as a result. At FAB HQ the team are extremely proud of their Lincolnshire roots and this is reflected in many of the beer names. They are also keen to celebrate the regions aviation heritage, so quite a few of the 25 strong range of beers are Aviation themed beers.
The fore runner of this range is Just Jane a Session Bitter named after the Avro Lancaster based at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby. As soon as Just Jane was produced it seemed like a fitting tribute to donate a proportion of sales to the restoration project of this fantastic aircraft, which to date is over £5,000.
FAB believe that craft beer is defined by bold flavours, top quality ingredients, dedication, and a focus on ensuring customers get a FABulous pint every time.
The key to their success is 1) using traditional methods of brewing, 2) using the highest quality ingredients and 3) their passion and dedication to handcrafting their ales and lagers 4) Supporting the local community including our Lincolnshire supply chain
The very best ingredients include British malted barley, rye and wheat, Hops which are matched to the recipe, so for a British bitter they are English hops, but for a German Pilsner style, a mix of German noble hops are used. All our beers except our milk stout are vegan and vegetarian friendly.
Controlling the whole process from recipe creation, to brewing, fermentation and conditioning, to racking casks, kegs and bottling. This dedication to quality means that whether you like a dark Porter with a subtle smokiness or the clean refreshing citrus note of a Pale Ale or Lager, FAB have something that will definitely impress beer lovers everywhere.
