Cornish Yarg is a lovely gentle cheese made by the Lynher Dairy in Ponsanooth. Made with pasteurised milk and vegetarian rennet, it’s a semi-soft, fresh tasting and zesty cheese covered in nettle leaves. It's name derives from the name of the family who invented it spelt backwards. The edible nettles are added to the outside and attract natural moulds that add a really mushroomy taste to the outside of the cheese. Yarg has plenty of awards under it’s belt, including Best British cheese at the International Cheese Awards, as well as a Gold medal at this years’ British Cheese awards.
